First off – please know that you are not alone in this. Sure, it’s not an easy task when your views are so different from your parents, but conflicts like these happen a lot. Life is really long, and throws curveballs at you all the time. You will get through this.

Your parents’ feelings are just as real as yours, and chances are they probably feel as alienated by your decision (because of their cultural background) as you feel about their treatment of you. Find some way to your boyfriend and tell him what’s going on (email, or a pay phone, perhaps since your mobile’s not with you at the moment).

Now your heart might scream that “it’s impossible!”, but I think it would be a good idea to keep some distance and not communicate with him for a while (it’s okay – true love will wait patiently) for the sake of repairing the family relationship (it’s giving you loads of stress as it is, so you have to fix it ASAP). Once everything is back to normal at home and your parents aren’t freaking out anymore, you can try to have a proper conversation then. This can take a week, or months; you have to be the judge and know when is the right time to bring it up.

Weed is just that – a plant which intoxicates you for a short while. “Cool”, “uncool”, these are not things; just imaginary concepts. We all know this, but remember that there are many other things in life that can entertain you for two to three hours. From a social standpoint, don’t see it any differently as turning down an invitation to a movie. If your friends don’t see it this way, they probably have an immature view of weed. Also, using weed can (sometimes) get you a little more paranoid than usual. This has a good chance to really ruin your night; especially if you were already anxious about the whole situation to begin with.
It’s been a while since your post, so I hope you’re happy with whatever decision you’ve made about this. Just remember to respect yourself (making your own decisions based on how you feel, and not what others want of you) first and foremost. While this is important to your weed decision, it’s actually a rule of thumb for life in general.
As for the police worries, the smell of burning weed is absolutely unmistakable (more so than cigarette smoke, if you’ve smelled that), so don’t ever do it in public near people.
Yeah, so there’s some information for you. I’d love to tell you to just be safe and not do it, but then that would just be peer pressure in the other direction (“you MUST do it!”, “you MUST NOT do it”…. Opposite sides of a coin). Stay safe, and all the best to you.

Stand your ground. In places where weed is legal, it’s considered “uncool” to smoke it. I too have faced a similar situation, but I was in a foreign country and didn’t want to take any chances.

I know lots of people who have tried it once and got addicted, but a lot of people who also try it, know when to stop.

Dude, I feel like I wrote this story, as EXACTLY the same thing happened to me. I just was not ready for SEX at the time, and neither were/are you. Later you will be and the world will be fine.
In my story, which I never wrote on any site 6 months after the girl broke up with me because I was too slooooww for her, she was pregnant !
Obviously she found someone much faster than me.
I realize now being older she was not such a prize, and I’ve had lots of girlfriends so I can compare. So chill out, keep your self respect and don’t be her little lap dog as she is done with you as far as a real relationship goes. Get youself another girl, there are lots out there.

So sorry you are having trouble. First, as a couple, who are you hanging out with? Are they people who have the type of relationship that you want to have? If not, ditch them and make friends with people who do. Try a church group. Seriously.

Second, if you are sleeping with him, stop until he marries you (if that is what you want). Resist your own desires and your own need to feel “close” and put your foot down. A guy doesn’t respect a woman who has sex without commitment. They may like them, but they don’t respect them and will treat them without respect.

If you put your foot down, will send the message that you are serious and that he needs to get serious. Then, you will really find out where he’s at.

Well, depends on who the guy is… if you have no interest in him at all, or you don’t like him, it’s pretty awkward for a few weeks. Of course, you can flat out tell him your not interested, which would be better for you, but it might hurt him.

Dude, first of all, you are putting way to much into analyzing yourself and your surrounding people… including your family. People (and our personalities) are not that fragile. If you have a propensity toward homosexuality, then present it to the closest (and most understanding) person to you that does NOT know it. Then to the next person down on that “list”. As you work your way down that “list” you will get more adept at letting your interests known to the people that are closest to you as time goes by. Do NOT try to rush this process. As time goes on and you “work” your way down that “list” more of your closest people will offer their opinions and support (or lack of it). You… and this is MOST important… MUST be able to accept whatEVER stance is taken by the people that you confide in… even if it is your parents. Your strength and will to continue… to strive onwards, come from YOU… NOT from anyone else… dig deep within you and pull it out. A little background about myself: I was molested for years by a gay teenager (and relative) starting when I was nine. I was VERY confused. I went on to work it out as best as I could on my own. I have known a few gays in my life and have no animosity towards gays. But I have come to the conclusion that I am not gay… though I have an almost family-like reationship with a few gay people (both men and women). What I have learned is that “People are people” and that we can (with courage and determination) overcome almost any “obstacle” that life and lifestyles put before us. Yeah, pretty sure you’ll find someone soon…sometimes it seems like all the nice guys are taken but when girls are sick of the cheaters and guys who can’t treat them right they willl come running to you! It is not your fault. Do not feel bad about yourself. You are probably a really wonderful, nice, and caring person.

First of all, they violated your privacy which is not on and then to make things worse abuse you. That’s not fair, especially when you can’t see your own friends.

You did the right thing by being honest. If you were not, later down the track the truth would come out and would make matters 100 times worse than what they are now.

If they have a problem with you seeing someone, it’s their issue. If they don’t like it, they can simply leave.

So cheer up, and make sure you have a good time doing what you want to do, not what others want you to do.
