A crypto-currency story

I met this guy on the streets of cologne last week and noticed his sign saying ETH, I asked him if he knew what he was holding, and he answered with a yes, I want Ethereum (in a funny eastern European accent). We talked for some time and I asked him why he was homeless, apparently, he lost his job after losing his right leg due to diabetes and then became an alcoholic and lost his home, now he’s been sober for 3 years he said but is still homeless.

He told me that he read about Ethereum in a newspaper and thought that this could be his way out, he used his begged money to buy an old smartphone and his cousin helped him set up his wallet and makes use of free McDonalds Wi-Fi to check his wallet.

I asked him if I could take his picture and he was all right with it. I was pretty moved by his story so once as I arrived home I sent him 10 euro in ETH to his address, I would’ve loved to have seen the look on his face when he checked his balance but unfortunately, I’m home again.
