But mum why?
Why would you make your own child cry
For your daughter to not have you there
Now I know that you didn’t care
I cried nights on end
But you didn’t know
I wrote you a message but didn’t hit send
I was scared of what you would think
But I grew up without you by my side
I didn’t have a mum to be my guide
I had a dad who’s a hero to me
He let me be me and let me be free
You went to prison made my whole mind a mess
You judged me on the way I handled the stress
You called me shouting down the phone
Little did I know I was the one you were about to disown
But then you say to me
” you are not my child”.
