An ode to my confidence

An ode to my confidence

What is confidence?

Confidence is like the calm before the storm; no one really notices it until it’s in full form.

Confidence is like a smile at a stranger walking by; not needed by still you do it anyways.

Confidence is like the first cigarette in the morning, you’ll always feel better once you’ve had it.

However

Confidence is like the fire in a forest; burns bright and destroys everything beautiful

Confidence is the the sharp worded tongue that you use on your loved ones.

Confidence is the like the sour taste in your mouth from the mistakes, you long to have never made.

People say confidence is key.
Confidence is pretty.

Well to my confidence, my confidence does not define me, it is not me.

Confidence to me, is the unknowing but doing it anyways; it’s the self love to balance out the self hate.

Confidence is waking up in the morning, hoping for a better day.

Making it through everyday.

Confidence is to say I’m okay.

Confidence is keeping all the pain; storing it away; screwing the lid on tightly and saying not today.
